The Huniso District of The Church of Pentecost, through its Schools Outreach Ministry (SOM), has organised a career guidance programme for about 80 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates within the Huniso-Pepesa Electoral Area.
The initiative, held on Wednesday, April 1, was in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Prestea Huni Valley Municipality and the Assembly Member for the area.
The programme aimed to empower the students and sensitise them on the numerous opportunities available to them upon excelling in their examinations.
Participating schools included Huniso MA Basic School, Pepesa MA Basic School, Eagles Child International School, and God’s Gift Preparatory School.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Chief of Huniso, Nana Vinda II; the Municipal Director of NCCE for Prestea-Huni Valley, Mr. Kwesi Kuntu-Blankson; the Assembly Member for the Huniso-Pepesa Electoral Area, Hon. Phillip Onorlo; and the Mmrantiehene of Huniso, Nana Opoku.
Also present were the Huniso District Pastor of The Church of Pentecost, Ebenezer Tawiah-Mensah, and Mrs. Love Tawiah-Mensah, an executive member of the SOM in the Tarkwa Area.
The organisers expressed optimism that the programme would inspire the candidates to excel academically and make informed career choices.
