Beneath the open sky at Lazio Park in Zenu, a deep sense of worship and expectation settled over the crowd as the Ashaiman Area of The Church of Pentecost continued its ‘Ashaiman for Christ Crusade.’
On the third evening of the four‑day gathering, Apostle Samuel Nana Yaw Agyei, Sakumono Area Head, mounted the platform to deliver the sermon and altar call with a tone that was both urgent and compassionate. His theme was unmistakable: Jesus came to seek and to save the lost.
He introduced his sermon with a striking assertion that whenever the gospel is proclaimed, heaven responds. When heaven opens, he said, liberty follows, and with liberty comes healing. The Spirit of God backs the gospel, and therefore the Spirit must be upon God’s people.
Preaching from John 1:17, “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ,” Apostle Nana Yaw Agyei disclosed that through Moses came instruction, but through Jesus Christ came transformation.
He reminded his listeners that from creation to the present, God has always been seeking humanity. Quoting the opening chapter of the Gospel of John, he highlighted the continuity of God’s redemptive plan: “In the beginning was the Word.” The Word, he explained, is Jesus — and grace and truth came through the Word. He urged the crowd to receive this Word that brings true transformation, affirming that God has never abandoned humanity nor acted without purpose. Every situation, he said, lies within God’s knowledge and design.
Underscoring the uniqueness of Christ, Apostle Nana Yaw Agyei declared that while comparisons may exist in life, there is none comparable to Jesus. No one has prophesied like Him, performed miracles like Him, experienced a birth like His, ministered as He did, or died the way He died. And on the third day, He rose again. He proclaimed that same resurrected Christ was calling lost souls back to Himself. He asserted that no one loves like Jesus, and no one loves sinners as He does.
Drawing a vivid contrast between the law and grace, he explained that the law punishes, but grace transforms. The law leads to death, but grace brings eternal life. The law exposes sin, but grace brings truth and justification. Had humanity been left to the law alone, he noted, the burden would have been unbearable. But grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
The Sakumono Area Head further stressed that true satisfaction comes only from receiving Jesus. Without Him, a person may be physically alive yet spiritually dead.
During the altar call, he passionately invited those who felt lost to come forward with eagerness. He described the moment as a period of grace — a time when grace turns sinners into saints and lifts the sick to stand and testify. He prayed that everyone present would receive their portion of the blessings the Lord was releasing before they left the grounds.
Prophetic declarations of healing and spiritual impartation followed. He prayed that burdens and yokes would be broken at the hearing of the Word, and that the Spirit of the Lord would rest powerfully upon the people.
As the night continued at Lazio Park, one message rang out clearly once more: The law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
