The atmosphere was filled with joy and gratitude as the Kokoso District Mission House in the Agona Swedru Area of The Church of Pentecost was officially dedicated on May 9, 2025, by the Area Head, Pastor Adjei-Nimako Darkwa.
The journey to this milestone began when the then Area Head, Apostle Derek Kwaning Mireku (now retired), announced at the 2022 End-of-Year Area Presbytery meeting that the Executive Council had approved the creation of the Kokoso District. To support this initiative, the Headquarters provided a grant of GHS 300,000.00 to commence the Mission House project.
The land for the project was donated by Mr Matthew Amporful, a gesture that greatly accelerated the project.
The sod-cutting ceremony was performed by Apostle Mireku, with support from Pastor Nathaniel Asare, Brakwa District Minister. On August 25, 2023, the foundation stone was laid by the then Area Head, Apostle Mireku, assisted by Pastor Asare.
The official inauguration of the district coincided with the welcome service for the first District Minister, Probationary Overseer Maxwell Gyan, his wife Mrs Agnes Gyan, and their family.
Upon the arrival of Pastor Adjei-Nimako Darkwa, who succeeded Apostle Mireku, the project received renewed momentum and support, culminating in its successful completion and dedication.
Delivering the sermon at the dedication ceremony, Pastor Bright Frimpong of PIWC-Swedru delivered an inspiring exhortation on the theme: ‘Glory of Remembrance,’ based on Malachi 3:14–17.
