The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Eric Nyamekye, has declared that Jesus Christ is the only answer to the burden of sin and the struggles of humanity.
He said this on Thursday, April 2, 2026, when he ministered at the Kwabrafoso Zone in the Obuasi Area during the 2026 Easter Convention on the theme, “Jesus Died That I May Live” (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10).
According to Apostle Dr. Nyamekye, the Christian faith is anchored on two cardinal truths: the incarnation of Christ—God becoming man—and His death and resurrection. He explained that these two events, celebrated as Christmas and Easter respectively, set Christianity apart from all other religions.
“The death and resurrection of Christ are not just historical events; they are the very foundation upon which our faith stands,” he stated, adding that believers experience the reality of these truths through transformed lives.
Referencing John 3:16-17, the Chairman reiterated that Jesus Christ came not to condemn the world but to bring salvation to humanity. He noted that the gospel message remains one of hope, redemption, and restoration for all who believe.
Expounding on John 8:2-11, he highlighted how Jesus demonstrated both justice and mercy in His encounter with the woman caught in adultery. He explained that although Christ does not trivialise sin, He extends grace to those who are trapped in it and in need of a Saviour.
“Those under the grip of the enemy do not need condemnation; they need compassion. They need a Saviour,” he emphasised, describing Jesus as the light in darkness and the lifter of burdens.
Apostle Dr. Nyamekye further observed that many people, due to the fear of death, live in bondage—moving from one place to another in search of solutions. However, he stressed that neither wealth, pleasure, fame, education, nor religious rituals can address the burden of sin.
“Jesus Christ is the only solution to the troubles of this world. He alone is the Saviour,” he declared.
Touching on the significance of Easter, he urged believers to remain focused on the message of Christ’s death and resurrection, describing it as a sacred responsibility for every Christian.
The Chairman is expected to minister across five key zones—Obuasi, Tweapease, Asokwa, New Edubiase, and Kwabrafoso—during the convention.
The Obuasi Area 2026 Easter Convention, under the leadership of Prophet David Kankam Beditor, commenced on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and is expected to climax on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
