Dafliso Dzogbebabe, a 52-year-old traditional priestess from Akato in the Wudoaba District of The Church of Pentecost, Aflao Area, has renounced her former practices and handed over her three gods to be burnt. The event, which took place on Friday, January 9, 2026, marked a powerful turning point in her life.
Sister Dafliso gave her life to Christ after a house-to-house outreach by the District’s Evangelism Team during November’s Aggressive Evangelism, where Deaconess Gloria Kewu shared the message of Christ with her. The District counseling team counseled her to fully demonstrate her faith in Christ, by handing over her gods – Dzogbe, Maama, and Tokpo – to be destroyed.
She revealed she’d served these gods for 22 years, but the last eight had been filled with misery, leading her to seek true freedom in Christ. Pastor Albert Adotey Mensah, Wudoaba District Minister, baptised her, and she changed her name to Veronica Tovia, reflecting her new faith in Christ.
