As part of the 2025 Christmas celebrations, the Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Elmina Area, on Friday, 26th December, made a generous donation to the Elmina Government Hospital. The initiative, part of the Ministry’s outreach programme, aimed to demonstrate love, compassion, and practical care for institutions serving the public.
The donation exercise was led by Area the Head Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko alongside the leadership of the Women’s Ministry. District leaders of the Ministry, hospital management, and staff were present, creating an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and Christian fellowship.
Speaking on the motivation behind the gesture, Apostle Oduro-Nyarko cited Matthew 25:34–46, highlighting that acts of kindness to the sick, needy, and vulnerable are acts done unto Christ. He emphasised that Christmas celebrates God’s ultimate love in giving His Son, and believers are called to reflect this love through tangible acts that address real human needs.
The items donated included detergents, tissue paper, mops, buckets, sweeping brushes, dustbins, laundry baskets, toiletries, biscuits, assorted drinks, and an electronic blood pressure machine, intended to support hygiene, patient care, and basic health monitoring.
Presenting the items, Area Women’s Ministry Leader Deaconess Millicent Owusu explained that the donation was the result of collective contributions from women across the Elmina Area. She reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to supporting health institutions, the vulnerable, and the needy.
Receiving the items, Hospital Administrator Mr Joseph Kwame Addo expressed deep appreciation, noting the donation would significantly enhance sanitation, patient comfort, and healthcare delivery. He also appealed for Church support in establishing a VIP ward to improve service delivery.
The Church leadership and Women’s Ministry members visited the male, female, and children’s wards, sharing fellowship, prayers, and encouragement with patients, while committing the hospital staff and management into God’s hands.
In attendance were Dr Mrs Cynthia Oduro-Nyarko; Pastor Dr Prince Augustine and Barbara Ababio; Mrs Ewura Akua Ameyaw; Mrs Cecilia Nti; Deaconess Evelyn Momo Afotey; Deaconess Ama Sika Boamah; and other Executive Committee Members of the Women’s Ministry.
