The Mount Olives Assembly Church building in the Kissi District of the Elmina Area has been dedicated to the glory of God. The ceremony, held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, was officiated by the Elmina Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Lawrence Oduro-Nyarko.
In his opening remarks, Apostle Oduro-Nyarko expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the project. He also acknowledged the Chairman and the Executive Council for their continuous financial support towards local church building projects.
Preaching on the theme “Building the Church with Integrity” (Matthew 7:24–27; Proverbs 10:9), the Elmina District Minister, Pastor Chris Ameyaw, emphasized the importance of integrity in Christian service and leadership. He noted that integrity—defined as moral consistency and doing what one professes—forms the foundation of a strong church capable of withstanding trials. He encouraged believers to live exemplary lives marked by honesty, accountability, and faithfulness, adding that leaders must handle church resources with integrity.
Giving a brief history of the Assembly, Elder Ernest Amonoo, the District Finance Chairman and former Presiding Elder, recalled that the Mount Olives Assembly was established in 2015 during the tenure of the late Pastor Samuel Justice Kusi Asumadu following an aggressive evangelism campaign. The Assembly initially worshipped under canopies before constructing a temporary structure under Pastor Ernest Boakye Anto through Area support.
In 2017, the church received a Community-Based Church Building (CBCB) grant from the Headquarters to commence the permanent structure. However, work stalled due to financial challenges until further support was released under Apostle Oduro-Nyarko after the creation of the Elmina Area from the Cape Coast Area, leading to the completion and dedication of the building.
Pastor Samuel Obeng Ansong expressed appreciation to former Area Heads—Apostle David Terkperh and Apostle Dr. Samuel Yaw Antwi—and the current Area Head, Apostle Oduro-Nyarko, as well as church members and artisans for their support towards the project.
The event was attended by Mrs. Cynthia Oduro-Nyarko, ministers and their spouses within the Area, officers, members of the Assembly, and traditional leaders of Kissi.
