The Achimota District of The Church of Pentecost has held a special retirement service to celebrate sixteen dedicated officers who have served the Lord faithfully over the years. The event took place on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at the Achimota Central Auditorium and was marked by gratitude, reflection, and joy.
Delivering a stirring sermon on the theme “Heaven Never Forgets” (Hebrews 6:10), the Achimota Area Head, Apostle Joseph Danzerl, encouraged both the retirees and the congregation not to be disheartened when their labour seems unnoticed by men. “For God is not unjust to forget your work and labour of love,” he reminded them, emphasising that though the world may quickly forget, “God’s memory doesn’t work like that – He never forgets.”
Using biblical examples, Apostle Danzerl explained that divine remembrance always leads to divine action. “God remembered Noah after the flood (Genesis 8:1), Hannah in her barrenness (1 Samuel 1:19), and Israel in their affliction (Exodus 2:24). When God remembers, He intervenes,” he stated. He added that heaven records every act of service, whether preaching, cleaning, giving, or praying, and that service rendered in love carries eternal value. “Service is worship, not a transaction,” he said, urging believers to serve with sincerity and eternity in view.
Addressing the retirees directly, Apostle Danzerl encouraged them to see retirement not as an end but as a new phase of ministry. “You are retiring, but you are not finished,” he said. “As long as you have breath, there is still work to do in God’s vineyard; through mentorship, intercession, and counselling.” He concluded with a touching reminder: “In a world quick to forget, always remember that Heaven never forgets. Every tear, prayer, and act of love is eternally remembered by God.”
The Achimota District honoured six Elders, one Deacon, and nine Deaconesses, acknowledging their devotion and selfless service, which have contributed significantly to the growth and mission of the Church. The service featured moments of celebration, testimonies, and expressions of heartfelt appreciation.
In attendance were Apostle Retired Joseph Assabil, Mrs. Dorcas Danzerl (wife of the Area Head), Pastor Gabriel and Mrs. Joyce Siaw (Achimota District Pastor and wife), as well as ministers and their spouses from across the Achimota Area.
