The Church Of Pentecost Women’s Ministry Organises Entrepreneurship Training For Muslim Women in Akosombo

As part of the Peace Keeping Campaign initiated by The Church of Pentecost, the New Combine District Women’s Ministry in the Agormanya Area of the church recently organised an entrepreneurship training for Muslim women in Akosombo.

The programme, initiated by Mrs Esther Kesse, the wife of the New Combine District Minister, in collaboration with the leadership of the District Women’s Ministry, aimed at promoting peace between Christians and Muslims and to empower women to contribute to peace and stability during the upcoming election. Additionally, it sought to reduce poverty and unemployment among Muslim women.

The resource team, led by Mrs Deborah Gneasu, the wife of the Resident Minister of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Akosombo, taught the women various business skills to help them start their own businesses and earn a living.

The women learned to make products such as meat pie, bread rolls, rice drink, liquid soap, Keysoap, ‘Don’t Touch Me’ soap, and condensed milk toffee. The training lasted the entire day. To ensure their full participation, the church provided free lunch for the participants.

Pastor Martin Berko Kesse, the District Minister, spoke to the women about ‘The Role of Women in Promoting Peace in the Upcoming Election,’ based on Romans 12:18. He encouraged the women to promote peace within their families and communities, emphasising their influence as wives and mothers.

The women were delighted with the experience, as it was the first time they were allowed by their Chief Imam to freely enter a church for fellowship and learning. They also contributed to the training by providing Hausa koko, koose, and maasa for breakfast. The event was both peaceful and educational.

In appreciation, Aljia Salamatu, the leader of the Muslim Women Community, praised The Church of Pentecost for its positive impact. She highlighted the significance of two different religions coming together and expressed gratitude for the church’s investment in the Muslim women.

She requested more joint programmes in the future. She concluded by blessing The Church of Pentecost and the Women’s Ministry for the gesture.
