History was made Sunday night [March 20, 2022] as PENT TV, a Christian television station owned by The Church of Pentecost, was officially migrated unto the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) platform, making it a free-to-air television station. The colourful launch was performed by the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, at the church’s Headquarters at La in Accra where the TV station is located. All seven students of the Pentecost Preparatory School, Sawla (PPS) who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) last year have successfully passed. The PPS-Sawla is one of the few among the 43 Junior High Schools in the Sawla District to record a 100% pass in the final year examination. The Accra-Tema passenger train service will resume full operations next week after it was suspended for nearly two years, the Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL) has said. The Company said it had initially planned to resume operations earlier this week after series of successful test runs, but had to reschedule to next week after another test run on Tuesday, March 08, 2022. “We have conducted series of successful test run. The plan was to start the commercial running on Tuesday but yesterday there was another test run. The 15 public universities in the country are expected to resume full academic activities from today following the suspension of the industrial action by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG). This is in spite of the referenda being held across the various branches of the association to ratify or reject the decision of the National Executives Committee (NEC) of the association to suspend the strike, which began on January 10 this year. Per the constitution of UTAG, lecturers are supposed to be back in the classrooms once the strike has been suspended.
