Youth Ministry Launches Nationwide “Teens Evangelism” Drive

The Church of Pentecost Youth Ministry on Saturday, November 26, 2022, launched the nationwide “Teens Evangelism” exercise at the church auditorium of the Pentecost International Worship Centre, Kaneshie (PIWC-Kaneshie). Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, the Patron of the ministry, who is also the Area Head for Kaneshie and an Executive Committee Member of The Church of Pentecost, announced the theme: “In Him is Life” (John 1:4) during the official launch ceremony. As part of efforts to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in Junior High Schools, the participants of the national Junior Science and Maths Quiz (JSMQ) received a three-day tour of the various laboratories at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). The tour included the Geological, Core and Rock Property, Power, Molecular Medicine and Microbiology Laboratories. Three hundred students and non-students are participating in the maiden online leadership and coaching course by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The 3-week course is being facilitated by the KNUST E-Learning Centre in collaboration with the Centre for Capacity Building and Innovation (CCBI) and the Students Representative Council. Already, the Centre is facilitating courses in Data Management and Analytical Tools using STATA, Records Management for Agribusiness SMEs, Monitoring and Evaluation of Development projects among others. The government will reintroduce the collection of road toll on selected roads in the country next year. The reintroduction of the road toll is one of the revenue measures contained in the 2023 budget presented to Parliament by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta last week. “The fiscal policy measures to underpin the 2023 Budget for consideration and approval by Parliament include the reintroduction of tolls on selected public roads and highways with a renewed focus on leveraging technology in the collection to address the inefficiencies characterized by the previous toll collection regime,” paragraph 462 of the 2023 Budget statement reads. The National Service Scheme (NSS) has released 4,330 PIN Codes for registration by eligible Ghanaian-trained nurses of all accredited tertiary institutions in the country. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that results for this year’s WASSCE will be released on November 30. The Council says it has successfully completed the marking and co-ordination of the papers at all 49 venues and has commenced the processing of the results.
