Ghana has made significant progress in extending electricity access across the country, particularly the rural areas. However, the recently published Ghana Living Standards Survey (Ghana Statistical Service, 2019) indicates that regions in the northern parts of the country have much lower access to electricity, compared to regions in the southern parts of the country. One of the communities in the northern part of the country that is yet to be connected to the national grid is Kultamise, a farming community in the Pusiga district in the Upper East Region. The General Secretary of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, on Thursday, June 24, 2021, commissioned an ultramodern health facility constructed by the church at Kultamise, a farming community in the Upper East Region of Ghana. The facility, which took 21 months to complete, is expected to serve communities located over the banks of the Kulpelgu river, namely Kultamise, Kolnaba, Bitsu, Nware, Gamburugu, Cinakom, Sangaboli and Kawerigu. An ultramodern Bakery funded jointly by the Pentecost Social Services (PENTSOS) and the General Headquarters of the Church of Pentecost has been commissioned at Busunya in the Techiman Area. The Bakery initiative is a social enterprise project of PENTSOS with an overarching purpose to build the youth's productive capacity and create job opportunities through skills training. The PENTSOS Bakery Project is expected to provide direct employment to 150 people youth in the Church, function as a skills training centre to train the youth in bread making and pastries, and indirectly create jobs for over 500 people in Nkoranza North District. The value of mobile money transactions has more than doubled in the last twelve months, according to the Bank of Ghana. The total value shot up by over 120 percent from February 2020 to February 2021. On a monthly basis, the value of transactions from January to February saw a minimal increase of about 1 percent. This was contained in the Central Bank’s Summary of Macroeconomic and Financial Data report. Apart from a few periods of reduction over the past 12 months, the value of mobile money transactions in Ghana has generally seen a consistent rise.
