GJA HOLDS 3RD AFRICAN MEDIA CONFERENCE

Ghana is hosting the 3rd African Media Convention under the theme,’’ The African Media We Want: Enhancing Freedom, Innovation, and Environmental Sustainability in a Dynamic Media Landscape’’.

 The conference, currently underway at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra will pave the way for participants to discuss the need for the protection and freedom of Journalists and their contributions to sustainability in this contemporary and dynamic media landscape.

Delivering the opening address, the President of the Ghana Journalists Association who also doubles as the Chairman for the convention, Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfour welcomed delegates from several African countries as well as international guests.

He stressed the need to reinforce the media in Africa and the significance of upholding the media’s mandates in informing the denizen.

Mr. Dwumfour recognized the important role played by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, and the sector minister to ensure the conference is held in Ghana.

He also acknowledged the massive participation of Ghanaian and other African media practitioners in the ongoing conference.

The conference, anticipated to end tomorrow May 17, 2024, will also pave the way for participants to connect, and share ideas thus strengthening the bond between the Ghanaian media and other African continents.
